It started wth the awful news that the city was in a financial meltdown and the libraries was on the chopping block to be relinquished to the County library system. This weel will be another week when I will be all over the place. The new library management interns will begin their Year 2 as Laura Bush Grant participants. I will be also starting the process of recruiting the new LB pages for Year 2. We have to start building a Float for the Fiestas Patrias parade ( I have never built a float before). As I sit, working on completing the interim report for Year 1 of this great adventure called the " seeds to Trees" project, it is time for me to really look at how things are going... Thus far, I think things are moving as best as they could be given the delays we have had in the hiring process. Today was day two at the Webwise conference in Baltimore, and thus far it has been very informatve and has given me many great ideas to percolate away in my brain. The theme of the conference is on STEM education, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. This is a mandate from President Obama, in response to our nation lagging behind in developing these disciplines in our youth.
